Saturday, September 25th at Hitching Post Farm in South Royalton, VT
Hoofin’ It for High Horses, now in it’s 28th year, is the biggest fundraiser of the year for our therapeutic riding program. The event features a 7-9 mile trail ride and a 3-7 mile walk through the spectacular Vermont countryside. This year, we’re delighted to announce Hoofin’ It will be hosted on the beautiful South Royalton, VT property of Hitching Post Farm.
So much more than a just fun trail ride or walk among the trees, your participation in Hoofin’ It makes life-changing opportunities possible for family, friends, and neighbors with unique needs through a therapeutic equine experience. The funds raised from Hoofin’ It directly support High Horses’ mission and program delivery.
High Horses has been able to provide a safe, fun, and beneficial therapy program to people of all ages in our community since 1993. At our farm, barriers are removed, strengths are celebrated, and relationships are formed. Even during the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are hearing from the community that High Horses is essential, and it’s heartwarming to know we can safely help those who need a caring place to come for support and mind/body health during this strange and difficult time.
We invite you to join us by riding or walking in the event, or sponsoring an individual participant or a team this fall!
For Trail Riders: All participants are asked to pledge a minimum of $150 for adults and $75 for children 18 and under and must register with a signed Liability Waiver.
For Hikers: All participants are asked to pledge a minimum of $50 for adults and $25 for children 18 and under and must register with a signed Liability Waiver. For groups of 6 or more, there will be a $250 fundraising goal in lieu of individual pledge amounts.
Given the concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, if you are not comfortable taking part in events with others, but would still like to support High Horses, perhaps even while enjoying time on your own outdoors this fall, please let us know if you would be interested in a virtual alternative to the in-person event. We’ve had past Hoofin’ It participants join us for the event remotely, including from as far away as Novia Scotia and Sweden!
Thank you so much for your support of High Horses, we hope to see you soon!
