We are so excited to announce that the new “High Horses Academy” website is officially live! Thanks so much to the hard work of our intern Abigail Simmons and program administrator Shari Gliedman-Baker for putting this together. Click the image below to explore the all-new High Horses Academy.
The academy was first created as a response to the initial COVID-19 lockdown as a way to try and keep our participants involved and feeling some connection to our program. We wanted to have educational resources to share when people couldn’t come to the barn because of the lockdown, the closed border between VT and NH, illness, or quarantine.
Going forward, we also envision educational and training resources for our volunteers. We aim to include educational and hands-on resources for parents in managing behavioral challenges, anxiety, and more. We would like to include resources for specific types of exercise that can be done at home in between lessons to help improve riding skills, balance, and strength. This is also a resource for staying connected to the High Horses herd through our storytime videos and profiles on each horse.
