How did you become involved with High Horses? I became the supervising OT for our COTA as well as a treating therapist.

What is your educational background? Masters in Occupational Therapy

What are your current or previous career highlights? I am a pediatric occupational therapist and have spent my whole career with the birth-3 population as an early intervention provider in Sullivan and Grafton County, New Hampshire.

What are your credentials related to equine-assisted services? I have completed level 1 and 2 Hippotherapy courses.

What therapeutic credentials do you have outside the realm of equine-assisted services? MS OTR/L (occupational therapist registered and licensed in Vermont and New Hampshire)

What impact do you see with equine-assisted services? The social and emotional benefits of connecting with an equine partner are unique and cannot be replicated in other OT settings.

Did you grow up around horses? Do you currently have horses? How many? I only took riding lessons for a brief period in my childhood, but have always been an animal lover. In college I volunteered at a facility providing Hippotherapy on the seacoast of NH.  I participated in 4-H with my llamas throughout my teen years and still own a llama and an alpaca that were my project animals.

Where did you grow up? I grew up and continue to live in the Lake Sunapee region of NH. Currently, my family and I reside in the rural town of Croydon, NH.

What are some of your favorite non-horse or therapy-related hobbies? I spend all of my time with my 3 young children. We enjoy spending time on our hobby farm, vacationing at our 5-generation family cottage on Lake Morey, Fairlee, VT, and participating in all of the seasonal activities New England has to offer.

Anything else you would like to share about family or special interests? My husband, Chad and I have three daughters, Kate, Navy, and Margot. We also have a dog, Hilary, cat, Nadia, llama, Freddie, alpaca, Paco, and chickens. Life is always busy!
