What year did you begin your relationship at High Horses? I joined as an instructor in January 2025.
How did you become involved with High Horses? After graduation I made a huge decision to move from Ohio to a Vermont and reached out to High Horses in hopes to form a connection. I am so excited to become a member of their team!
What is your educational background? I graduated from Lake Erie College with a Bachelors of Science in Equine Science with a Therapeutic Horsemanship concentration.
What are your credentials related to equine-assisted services? I have earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Equine Science with a concentration in Therapeutic Horsemanship and became a Certification Therapeutic Riding Instructor. I have also completed the Large Animal Rescue Operations (LARO) course from Animal Search and Rescue.
What impact do you see with equine-assisted services? The connection between a horse and person can be such a meaningful turning point for someone’s life. I have witnessed not only myself grow from learning about this passion, but also have witnessed many lives be changed by their experiences with horses.
Did you grow up around horses? Do you currently have horses? Although my grandfather raised thoroughbreds, I was never really around horses growing up. I have always had a strong love for animals and would help out at the barn occasionally in high school, which is where my passion for horses started, and now I can’t get enough of them! I currently don’t have any of my own horses to take care of though.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Upper Arlington - A small suburb in Columbus, Ohio.
What are some of your favorite non-horse or therapy-related hobbies? One of my favorite pass times is going to thrift and antique stores. I also love taking my cat on hikes when the weather is warmer!
