Women Veterans Program

Program Overview

The Women Veterans Program at High Horses is designed specifically to address the unique mental health needs of female veterans who may be struggling with PTSD, military sexual trauma (MST), anxiety, depression, and reintegration challenges.

This program combines equine-assisted therapy, group support, and individual sessions to help veterans reconnect with their sense of self-worth, purpose, and confidence. The group format fosters camaraderie among participants, allowing women veterans to build supportive relationships while sharing their experiences and challenges.

The program includes unmounted equine activities, such as grooming and groundwork, as well as therapeutic riding sessions that encourage personal growth, physical well-being, and emotional healing.

Groups run throughout the year and typically meet one time a week for two hours over the course of 6 weeks.
